We are a small but skilled team of professionals specializing in the management of single-family homes and independently owned properties in the Portland area. We’re able to offer personalized yet professional attention to each of the properties we manage. The focus and care we give to the individual family homes we manage is the same focus and care we give to the larger multi-family and commercial units. With our longstanding and experienced staff, we’re able to offer our property owners and renters alike an experience that saves time, money, and frustration.
We have become experts in:
With the team’s collective knowledge, we’re able to provide owners and tenants both a personal and informative experience every step of the way.
We do our best to ensure satisfaction for all parties when it comes to property management. Before entering into any management agreement, we consider each property owner carefully and allow them the opportunity to get to know the Tangent Team.
With prospective property owners, we:
Our goal is to provide a safe and peaceful living environment while improving the value of each investment. We don’t enter into an agreement unless we are absolutely certain that we can meet and exceed your expectations.
Owner
Ann-Marie has owned a four-plex and a five-plex in NW Portland for 20+ years so she is familiar will all sides of property management. She started Tangent with her business partner Craig Levie, and became the sole owner in 2019. Property management is a crowded field, but there was a clear market need for competent management for “mom & pop” owners. She wanted to use her real estate knowledge to further her ambition of running a small business. So far, so good. In her spare time Ann-Marie is a pickleball maniac and plays it at every opportunity… (and talks about it at every opportunity).
Office Manager
Skylar is involved with almost every facet of the business. Her professional demeanor and strong organizational skills are exactly what a property management firm needs and values. Skylar handles leasing, all facets of Appfolio, interacts with owners and tenants, assists maintenance by creating and organizing work orders, and monitors all activities by the staff. She shares her home with a cat named Spade and a puppy named Rummy, all future pets will also have playing card-themed names.
Accounting Manager
Luna is the money person in our firm. She has improved financial processes immensely since she has joined us. Luna handles all accounts receivables and account payables, owner distributions and security deposit accounting at the end of a tenancy. She is also the organizer of all Tangent social functions and is excellent at it. Luna loves to travel on her vacations and makes a mean dirty martini when she is home.
Maintenance Manager
Scott is an oracle of information about buildings, especially vintage buildings and he loves to share his knowledge. He is typically charged with more complex maintenance and restoration work orders and he is the mentor to maintenance techs. His ability to diagnose problems is a valuable skill as it allows us to get the correct skills in to fix something. Scott spends his weekends and vacations being a square dance caller. He’s actually pretty famous.
Maintenance Tech
Chuck has quickly picked up the skills to help with many maintenance tasks. He is our lead person for unit turns, installing blinds & light fixtures, checking on drains and clogs and many other routine maintenance requests. Chuck likes to write music, play guitar and has a Bob Dylan-like voice.
